Compost – Love For Larue Benefit Show – 5/18/2013
Experimental Punk/Alternative 3 piece based in Wilson, NC. 2 Bass guitarists and a drummer. Disbanded around 1995. But reunited for a benefit show in May 2013. Our unique line-up scored us a few gigs that we otherwise wouldn’t have gotten. Opening for national acts and playing some venues normally out of reach for the average punk band. The style of music evolved as guitar players challenged us with things that “we could not do without guitar” and with the exception of Ska, we managed to meet the challenges. We even dabbled in some electronic experiments. We disbanded when Jody moved back to Florida to stay with family and try to “reset” his life. Although Compost was done, Chad kept playing music. He was in several bands his most recent is The Ghost of Always. Neil focused on his art and his tattooing and fell completely out of playing music. So here we are, once again hammering out these 18 year old songs all 3 of us 18 years older.
Chad – Vocals/Bass
Neil – Vocals/Bass
Jody – Vocals/Drums
At just two years old, Holly Larue Frizzelle was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia over the Christmas holiday season. With a new baby on the way, her parents (Leilani and Jason) have been suffering every parent’s worst nightmare. There has been an overwhelming outpour of support and requests to contribute to her medical costs. Any donation, big or small, is greatly appreciated and will go directly to helping Larue win this battle.
