Hope everyone is doing well.  I\'ve been MIA for a while, but I\'ll try to get back to the board more often.

We filmed our DIVEbar show last Friday and it came out pretty good.

Here is Iron Fist:

Sherlock Holmes in Lovecraft inspired short stories.  Twisted and Brilliant!  I stumbled upon it at the Cary library.

I am a big, surly and emotionless man and I am struggling not to pee myself as tears of laughter run down my cheeks.

Get your Memorial Day Hellbilly fix at this early show featuring the best of the best in Psycho-Horror and Psycho-Hot Rod Rock and Roll.

Transylvania Transport Co. will be kicking things off early at around 6PM.

If you\'ve never seen this kind of shit live, you don\'t know what you\'re missing.  High energy doesn\'t even begin to describe it.

Close your holiday weekend with a big fucking bang and still get home early enough to sleep it off!

...or at least the recording.  It only took five years, but I have managed to get a second release out of this band...possibly the 2nd and 3rd at once.  We recorded a lot of songs. Some of them were on the first record, but we gave them a fresh coat of rock and roll with the upright bass player. I just don\'t know if we can afford two pressings at once so it all may end up on one.

To all of those I reached out to for recording help.  I\'m sure it would have been great working with you, but in the end I didn\'t go with anyone.  I did it myself (so I could go over the guitar and vocal tracks 6000 times) and I couldn\'t be more surprised at how good it came out!  I\'m sending it out to be mastered and as soon as it gets back, we\'ll get busy with digital and hard copy distribution.

There is a lot more motor and a lot more billy rolled up into these tracks.  Along with plenty of punk and metal shoved in where you probably wouldn\'t expect it.

I am fucking psyched about this one.  Maybe I\'ll give the NCscensters a sneak preview so I can get some of your (ok, fair enough, OUR) famous positive feedback!

Are you asking for it?  I know I am when I wear my biker jacket and boots.

I also knew what I was getting into when I decided to get tattoos below the elbow.  I really did.  I figured that since I\'ve wanted sleeved since I was a teenager and that I still wanted sleeved in my 40s, that I may as well go ahead and get busy.  I have a professional job where long sleeve shirts are the norm in a climate controlled office environment so nobody would ever know.  And if I end up digging ditches, nobody would care.  I don\'t have any really evil shit...sure there are a lot of flames and skulls, but I think the bright colors and music and hot rod theme is obvious.

Well, it turns out that I am indeed a scumbag.

To doctors for certain.  My recent medical issues have driven that point home with crystal clarity.  From my own personal physician whom I met for the first time this past fall, to all of the specialists that I have seen since.  I walk in in a sport coat and dress shirt.  We have a great conversation, full of mutual respect and absolutely no condescending attitude.  Then comes the moment where they say, "Ok, let\'s take a look at you."  The jacket and shirt come off and the flat, "Oh." comes out and the dynamic changes.

Not so bad when you get a chance to present yourself as educated and articulate before they see the ink.  But in a hospital gown you can see it as soon as they walk through the door.  The frown and the dismissive attitude shine through.

I will say that most of the nurses and techs had no issues and often shared their tats and asked where I had my work done.

14
I say no.  I have an endless capacity for limits.

What\'s too long?  What\'s too short?

I hate when the opener only has 25 minutes worth of material.  My reasoning is two-fold; they either try to fill time by fucking around or they blast through it and leave a 30 minute hole in the schedule.

I like to do a solid 45 minutes as an opener and we\'ll go as long as 90 minutes as a closer.  We\'ve done some two set nights and it\'s tough to figure out the formula for dishing out the A-list material.

I\'ve seen a trend in bands that play all-nighter gigs opening with a long set (longer than an hour), and I think that wears down the crowd rather than keeping them interested.
